Checklist for preparing your items:

  1. Decide on the overall theme of your video.
  2. Assemble all the materials you would like to include in your video.
    1. Film/Digital Photos
    2. Video Clips
    3. Negatives/Color Slides
    4. Memorabilia (newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, etc)
  3. After you have all of your items assembled, number them in the order in which you want them to appear in your DVD slideshow. Most clients label their pieces by either using a piece of tape or a pencil on the back of their item.
  4. Select the music you would like to use for your DVD slideshow. If you do not have a copy of the song you would like to use, we can purchase a copy for you at an additional cost.

Having Your Materials Scanned:

The utmost care is taken to reassure you that your memorabilia is returned to you in the same condition it was received. However, you may choose to have your materials scanned ahead of time to supply to us on disc, thus eliminating any possible discomfort in having them leave your hands.

If you choose to scan your materials (photos, documents, drawings, scrap book pages, birth certificates of baby etc) please be sure everything is scanned in color at a minimum of 300 dpi. All images should be saved in a .JPG format and saved onto a CD-ROM.

Should you attempt to scan something that is too large to fir on the scanner bed, scan ½ the image at a time, making sure to overlap images and we will combine them to make a single image.

Preparing Your Video Clips:

  1. Rewind your video to the beginning (whether it is a digital video tape, VCR tape, or 8MM) and reset the counter on your VCR or camera to zero.

  2. While watching your move, write down the number on the counter of what clips you’d like to include…beginning and end times. Also, give a description of each clip.

  3. Please indicate if the audio portion of your clip is what you’d like to hear or if you’d like music over it. It is possible to have just a portion of the clip heard as well. (Ex. If the person in the background is talking and is important to hear, mark that section down).
